![]() Now, automatically, when this slide appears, that image will fly in from the left, and it'll take a second to do so. One, for example, and press enter to lock it in. You can also click in here and just type in a number. We can click and drag to the right to increase, or drag to the left to decrease. The effect is going to last for two seconds. So as soon as the slide appears, this animation kicks in. First of all, you can see the effects starts at zero seconds. Now when we select this, it comes with it's own settings down below. Now I notice the arrow down below, there are some more animations we're not seeing here. Perhaps this would be interesting if it flew in from the left, since it's on the left hand side. It can ease in from different directions, or even fly in from different directions. And as we hover over those, we can see how they might enter the slide. Now, we get a different set of animations. Let's go up here, and maybe it'd be more interesting to have these images appear on to the slide. You can see there's scale, or scale down. So with basic selected, we can hover over some of these just to get a little preview of what might happen. Even create our own paths if we wanted to. Basic is what we're seeing right now, but we could add emphasis, we can have objects enter with animation, or exit the slide at the end with animation. There are different categories to choose from. And currently, you can see the default animation applied is none. In other words, we can set how long the animation lasts, when it starts, et cetera. And with our drone image still selected, as we scroll a little further down under effects, you can see that the animation we're about to apply will be triggered by a time based animation. Right now, we're going to focus on the actual effects down below. We'll worry about timings in the next movie when we open up the timeline. I default the objects we add, default to three seconds. So we see the image for three seconds, and that's why we saw it disappear for a couple. You'll notice it defaults to three seconds. We're going to start with the drone, and go up here to timing. Well when we go to our image and select it, and it can be any of these images. It disappears after five seconds and moves on to the next one. Meaning, we see it when we play this completed project. When we add slides without doing anything, with regards to timings, automatically we see that default of five seconds. You'll notice down below, about halfway, that the slide duration is defaulted at five seconds. Click properties if you're not seeing the properties pin. Now when we have nothing selected on a slide, and go the properties over here. We might want to consider animating some things like the images themselves. But other than that, nothing's happening on our slide to make it interesting. The images and content disappear for a couple of seconds, and then reappear. If we were to go up here to the preview drop down, and just play slide. We're going to go to the last slide here where we do see our images from earlier with some additional texts down below, for example. You'll find that in the chapter three folder of your exercise files. That's what we're going to do in this movie, with this version of our Red 30 New Hire Orientation project. You can animate texts, we can animate images, for example. We can do that by animating objects on your slide. One way to do that is to make your slides more visually interesting. ![]() ![]() Additionally, you can sign up for our Daily or Weekly newsletters to receive these top-ranked articles right in your inbox, or you can sign up to be notified when new resources like webinars or ebooks are available.- One of the biggest challenges you'll face when creating Elearning projects here in Captivate 2019, we'll be finding ways to hold the interest of your learners.
